This stunning poncho is a fantastic project to practice cabling skills and pattern reading.  The easy to follow instructions take you step by step through the process, knowledge of picking up stitches would come in handy (check out You Tube for videos explain this technique).  You will need to work two identical panels which are then seamed together in two places to finish the garment.  The pattern is also suitable for Country Style DK, Click DK, Simply Recycled DK, Calico DK and Flirt DK but you could experiment with other DK yarns too, just check your tension before you begin as amounts may vary.
